Of course, one of the greatest powers of such a party would be they could get first strike upon all opponents (because the "enemy" sees such a motley crew and immediately is struck down by incessant laughing).

Power to the common folk!Bosk of Port Karhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05382836168231297724noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6564695407408502795.post-18141907214596262322014-08-28T12:58:25.260-04:002014-08-28T12:58:25.260-04:00Well I once had an evil mage cross a hopeless char...Well I once had an evil mage cross a hopeless characters with a "What's new dragon" which had the power of "DM's grace". He'd eventually die just by leveling up!

"Uhm...no thanks guys. I'll just wait outside the door here. I can't risk gaining any more XP."

Obviously, the "minimum of +1 hp per level no matter the modifier" rule ruins this fun, but still, it would be totally fitting a hopeless character if it were possible, eh?yoyorobbohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08375340160423546919noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6564695407408502795.post-8986737848489385952009-08-06T14:07:42.094-04:002009-08-06T14:07:42.094-04:00@Jayson:

Sorry for such a late re...@Gamer Dude & Edsan:

Sorry for such a late response to your comments. I guess I missed the notifications on this one..oops. Got reminded of it with Edsan's more recent comment.

But yeah, 4e hating is obviously popular in some spots. Not here, by me, at least. My fave is and will likely always be Basic/Expert D&D (Moldvay/Cook/Marsh FTW!).

However, I'll give any game a chance, and I gave 4e a chance and liked it. It's completely different, as we all know, but it's still fun IMO, and it's available to me locally, in-person. Not so much for my fave, B/X.

I totally get when folks don't like a game or a particular version of a game, I feel that way towards some games too. I just happen to enjoy B/X and 4e to differing yet positive degrees. For shame! ;>]yoyorobbohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08375340160423546919noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6564695407408502795.post-84575769615529652122009-07-25T14:06:28.789-04:002009-07-25T14:06:28.789-04:00Waaay back in the late '80s, a friend of mine ...Waaay back in the late '80s, a friend of mine played a Hopeless character.
